Though your sins are like Scarlet, they shall be as snow: though they are red as Crimson they shall be like Wool! Isaiah 1:18

Our precious Lord is no respecter of persons but came to seek and to save all those who would come to Him in faith, seeking salvation. For the past six years I have been privileged to attend a wonderful camp for inmates sponsored by the WMU of the North Carolina Baptist Convention. God began to burden my heart that there should be more than one camp a year, therefore reaching many more inmates. Two years later the vision became reality. Forgiven Ministry held their first camp for female inmates.
We named the camp THREE DAYS WITH GOD, for truly it is just that. The camp is so anointed from the time the inmates get off the prison vans until they board them again for the trip back behind the walls. God hand-picks the volunteers or mentors that become a Christian sister to each participant. Between the tears and the love of God that richly flows during those three days you feel as though you have stepped inside Heaven. I personally have never felt closer to my precious Lord than during those three days. The inmates attending are selected on an honor grade basis and have been clean of infraction for a designated time. I know that most of the women who come have never experienced a time of praise and worship, a mentor who listens and prays with them and 48 hours of constant Christian fellowship. God uses this time to impact their life. During the events the inmates get to know, acknowledge and trust God with their life and future. Every event is filled with God's love, hope and forgiveness. Our classes strongly encourage them that through Christ they can break the strongholds in their life. Our team feels that there is no cost too high for a lost soul to spend three days with God, do you?

THREE DAYS WITH GOD camp was held May 30-June 1 at HICKORY COVE CAMP on Lake Hickory, NC. Pray for God's will to be fulfilled in the life of the inmates and the counselors.

IF ONE CHILD COULD HAVE A CHRIST-CENTERED MOM RETURN HOME FROM PRISON, THINK OF THE JOY OF THAT HOME FOREVER. IT COULD CHANGE THE PATH HER CHILD TAKES IN LIFE.

Read the letter below that Jean wrote to Connie after her experience at the camp this year.

The letter listed below was received from an inmate that attended our "Three Days with God" camp held May 30, 31 and June 1, 2003 at Hickory Cove Bible Camp. Jean is a Native American Indian that had already served in excess of 15 years and was facing a release date of 2033. She is a Godly Christian that was a helpmate to many of the younger women who were incarcerated with her. I'm sure they will miss her, but making parole was an answer to prayer. When I called Jean, after receiving her letter, she told me the first thing she and her husband did when she got home was fall down on their knees and thank God for his deliverance. She went on to tell me her parole officer was also a Christian and she knows that God will "complete" what He has already started.
Jean speaks, in her last paragraph, of the foot washing being her fondest memory. It remains one of mine too. Saturday night, before we retired to our beds, we read the scripture from John 13:1-17 and the volunteers washed the feet of the inmates. Jean could have been no more blessed than I was humbled to learn the lesson our Lord teaches of being willing to serve.

June 15, 2003
Hi Connie,

Received your letter and I was thankful to hear from you. Praise God, I've got glorious news for you and for you to share with others. I made parole and "WILL BE GOING HOME" Monday morning, June 16, 2003. Do let Scottie's mother know and I send my love to the whole ministry as well.

As soon as I get situated, I will be writing again. Just to let you know again, I had a very marvelous time with you all and I pray I'll get a chance to come to the camp or somewhere you all are at. Only wish I could be at RCCW the weekend ya'll come. Continue to pray for me as I will be keeping you all in prayer.

Please tell Polly the news and do let her know I got the package and I thank her very much. I want to join Forgiven Ministry as soon as I am eligible. I want to share my testimony and help lead others to God.

Dinah keeps in touch with my state child here at RCCW, Donna B. She attended your inmate retreat at Hickory Cove Bible Camp last year. She'll know anything you need to know when ya'll come on June 21st. I have asked her to fill you in if you have any questions before I can write you again.

Do write me at my home address as well as call whenever you feel like it. My husband's name is Ronald just in case I've went shopping or just out. Leave him a message.

My fondest memory of you will be the foot washing. You surely did it with love. God Bless you always as well as the ministry. Tell Scottie I will be writing her.

In Jesus' name,
I love you,
Jean B.
