My Prayer

Dear Lord,
Use the story of my father to reach those who think they have done too much to obtain God's forgiveness. Increase the faith of those who listen and create a deeper burden for their lost loved ones. Amen.

My Story

It was a cold winter day in January when we left the grave of my father. I remember saying these words, "If God could ever use the story of his life, I'd share it wherever God wanted it told."
Ten years later I was invited to visit our local prison unit. I shared my Dad's story and was amazed how God chose to use it for His glory. I saw inmates weep and identify with the words I spoke. I saw the Holy Spirit of God begin to soften those hardened hearts. When our local unit closed, I prayed, "Lord help me to find my place in your work." Immediately God opened doors for me to share my testimony in prisons, churches and children's homes.

My Purpose
To reach the unsaved and unlovable with the forgiveness and love of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

I sat in a cabana with a lady inmate serving time for murder. As God let me look within her, I was not afraid. I truly believe I felt the love and compassion that Christ felt for the woman at the well. My heart ached to share Jesus and His hope with her.

I want to be available and used of God to reach the lost and forgotten. God doesn't need great men and women. He needs men and women who will show His greatness. Luke 19:40
A Father's Crime,
a Daughter's Time
My earliest memories, when I was 3 or 4 years old, are of how my Mama loved my Daddy so much, and we would drive to visit him in jail every Sunday afternoon.

My Father was imprisoned five times during my life. I grew up not knowing the love of a father, ashamed for friends to know the troubled family life in my home. I locked a fear of my father about spiritual matters and a promise from a pastor in my heart for over 30 years.

After many years of separation from my father, we were united by God's plan. I learned he had gone from a world of bootlegging to a glamorous, powerful world of gambling and drugs. Little did I know the magnitude of his power and business. The luxury cars, the women and the money gave a false security and stood in the way of him seeing the cross of Calvary and the shed blood of our Precious Lord. In 1985, I prayed, "Whatever it takes Lord for my Father to be saved".

The events that followed would shake all our worlds. The grand jury, the arrests, the trials and the verdict would be part of God's plan to answer the prayer for my father to be saved. It seemed that a 62 year old man facing 45 years as a drug kingpin would be hopeless, but God can take the worst situation of life and bring good.

In Psalms 86:5 the Word speaks of the forgiving power of God. In my testimony you will see the mighty hand of God moved to achieve His purpose and the resentment and bitterness between a daughter and father turn into the beautiful love that only God can give.

To God be the glory, great things He has done! For truly, He is the King of Kings and worthy to be praised. Amen!
